As reported in Listin Diario, the cost of fuel in the Dominican Republic is higher than in every other country in the region, with the sole exception of Costa Rica.
The newspaper reports that the average in Central America and the Caribbean is US$4.60 and US$4.26 respectively.
In Costa Rica regular gasoline sells for US$5.41 per gallon and premium gasoline sells for US$5.60 a gallon.
