It was late on Friday and early on the weekend when Bajans learned some disappointing news that Rihanna would NOT perform here next month… (Let’s be honest, disappointing for most Bajans, myself I could not care less for a snotty brat who could wear an obscene pendant into a Catholic church – in my view, she should be removed from her diplomatic status… The only worse thing the late David Thompson did apart from that, was to hijack increase Road Tax from $266 to $400 for Barbadians who see no significant road repairs from 2007 onwards)

A specially prepared release indicated she will appear the following year, and the reason stated for the extended delay was due to alleged logistical challenges in transporting her extensive gear (Perhaps between Minister Sinckler & Dr Worrell more money can be drummed up by then? If they’re not flat out on their gluteals from a more vigorous No Confidence or finally action from these sheeple called Barbadians?), but what the release neglected to state is she was almost next door in the Dominican Republic set to do a gig but not before she enjoys one;-
“US singer-songwriter and actor Snoop Dogg will be on stage at the Hard Rock Hotel’s Oro Disco this evening, Friday 25 October. Snoop has sold over 30 million albums worldwide.

This so-called double-threat was confirmed by the Daily Mail;-
“Wearing a cute, white lace top, the Diamonds singer left her long, brunette hair down over her shoulders which was styled into a loose wave. She was joined by her best friend Melissa Ford who also danced and sang along to all of the rapper’s biggest hits.”
The point now remains, if she can travel to Dominican Republic with her equipment then why not to her own Homeland? Another website makes an odd claim which has no substantiation;-
“According to many sources, Barbados Customs have seized 15 shipping containers from Rihanna‘s Diamond Wold Tour despite world wide success and a sell out tour.
It is surprising that the authorities in Barbados would allow this to happen given Rihanna‘s global success and ongoing career as a leading female artist.”

Well, whatever the truth, Rihanna is finally imitating Prime Minister Freundel Stuart and the Barbadian Ministry of Finance – so she’s decided to do just like them and not perform!
