CWA2013: Enmore Estate, Guyana #1 – Transportation (All Terrain, Minimal Shock Absorption)

{CLICK FOR BIGGER} While appearing antiquated and endearing - this mode of carrying staff to the field for harvesting canes is still used now and is very harrowing... A testimony to the strength of the cutters and other sugar workers. The vehicles are designed for getting from one point to the next, take a beating and that is all! The jolts are quite alien to a regular person, these huge trucks go over man-made hillocks barely wider than the truck and trundle along a bridge made of wooden struts which seem precarious yet quite tough. This is a one-off event for myself and other CARDI guests; but the sugar workers do this EVERY DAY!
