FIREARMS SEIZED & TRIO CHARGED – WHY SO MANY BULLETS?

Police have arrested and charged three men in connection with the seizure of 18 firearms on Tuesday 24 September, 2013, after a search warrant was executed at a Christ Church residence. A quantity of ammunition of various calibers was also seized.

Police have arrested and charged three men in connection with the seizure of 18 firearms on Tuesday 24 September, 2013, after a search warrant was executed at a Christ Church residence. A quantity of ammunition of various calibers was also seized.

Three men are:

1. Corrie McCaulay Brathwaite, 35 years of #37, Dash Valley, St. George;

1. Corrie McCaulay Brathwaite, 35 years of #37, Dash Valley, St. George;

2. Martez Davidson Hackett, 30 years of Jackson Tenantry Road, Jackson, St. Michael;

2. Martez Davidson Hackett, 30 years of Jackson Tenantry Road, Jackson, St. Michael;

and

3. Fabian Oneal Alleyne, 34 years of Stewart Hill, St. John.

They have been jointly charged for the offences of:

Illegal possession of 18 firearms
Illegal possession of 647 round of ammunition.

Fabian Alleyne was separately charged for Importation of 18 firearms.

Fabian Alleyne was separately charged for Importation of 18 firearms.

The aforementioned persons appeared at the District A Magistrates Court on Saturday 28 September 2013.
