DIGICEL STAFF COME TOGETHER FOR BEACH CLEANUP
Staff at Digicel came together over the weekend to lend their assistance to keeping Barbados clean.
Digicel joined with the Barbados Chapter of the Caribbean Youth Environment Network (CYEN) to sponsor and participate in the 2013 International Coastal Cleanup, which took place at various points around the island.
Head of Human Resources with Digicel Barbados, Kerrigan Roach, indicated that in addition to being viewed as a great initiative to ensure the continued cleanliness of the Barbados, the cleanup was also seen as another chance for the staff to get to know each other better:
“Digicel is a very fast paced company, where staff interaction is very much tied to the hectic nature of our jobs. However, we are very aware that this type of environment also does require good working relationships, which can be greatly enhanced through the development of camaraderie and staff togetherness. With the increase in activity by our Sports & Social Club, we are definitely seeing a growth in staff involvement in a number of activities, including community work, which is a great way for our staff to develop relationships that last and would certainly benefit us as a company going forward.”
During the cleanup, Digicel staff collected 12 bags of garbage at Browne’s Beach in St. Michael, before enjoying a morning of socializing and togetherness with a small barbeque.
