(Anime Kon 2013) BARBADOS FEATURED IN “ARCTIC RISING” NOVEL, INTERVIEW WITH SF AUTHOR TOBIAS BUCKELL

Tobias Buckell attended AnimeKon in 2011 as one of their featured international guests and had such a blast that he came back this year for another show!

Tobias, who is originally from Grenada and currently lives in Ohio, has the rare distinction of being a New York Times Best Seller. In addition to penning over 40 short stories in various magazines and anthologies he has also written the novels Crystal Rain, Ragamuffin, Sly Mongoose, Halo: The Cole Protocol.

His first novel, Crystal Rain, was published in February 2006 by Tor Books. In 2007, Ragamuffin, his second novel, was released and then nominated for the illustrious Nebula Award. Sly Mongoose, his third novel, was published in August 2008, the same year he donated his archive to the department of Rare Books and Special Collections at Northern Illinois University.

His first novel, Crystal Rain, was published in February 2006 by Tor Books. In 2007, Ragamuffin, his second novel, was released and then nominated for the illustrious Nebula Award. Sly Mongoose, his third novel, was published in August 2008, the same year he donated his archive to the department of Rare Books and Special Collections at Northern Illinois University.

2008 proved to be quite the year for Tobias as he also penned the 6th novel in the Halo book series titled Halo: The Cole Protocol.

The novel was published in November 2008 and weeks later, debuted at #4 on the New York Times Best Seller list for paperback trade fiction. Along with Karen Traviss, Eric Nylund and a few other noted science fiction authors, Tobias wrote for the novel Halo Evolutions: Essential Tales of the Halo Universe, which was released in November 2009.

His follow up novel, Arctic Rising, was released in 2012 from Tor Books.
