7 bouts for Inaugural Mixed Martial Arts (MMA) Championships: “Broken Trident,” 31 August 2013

The Barbados Mixed Martial Arts Federation (BMMAF) is hosting the Inaugural Mixed Martial Arts (MMA) Championships entitled ‘Broken Trident‘ on August 31, 2013 at the Frederick Smith Secondary School.

Executive Director Rollins Alleyne says the BMMAF is a non-profit organisation with a primary focus to bridge the gap between the various art forms of Martial Arts, and in so doing provide the necessary opportunities and developmental principles in growing the MMA.

He further indicates the MMA Championship will be showcasing seven (7) Championship Fights on the Cards for the night as well as an exhibition bout between Trinidadian and Barbadian Bantamweight Fighters.

Additionally the Championship Fight Card will be having fighters from a total of seven MMA Camps, which includes; Caribbean Fight league, Alleyne’s Martial Arts, Lion’s Den, Habana Fight Club, Black Hawks International, Black Jaguar Martial Arts Academy, Universal Kempo Karate School, Regional Organization of Combat Karate (ROCK) and Southern Warriors of Mixed Martial Arts (Trinidad).

Local MMA stars Corey Weithers, Oneal Chase and Renaldo Stuart will be participating in the first edition of BMMAF series of events.
