Scotiabank congratulates the Springer Memorial and Queen’s College relay teams on their participation in the Scotiabank International High School 4×100 Relay Championship at the Toronto International Track and Field Games; Springer Memorial’s team placed 6th in the girls’ schools relay in a time of 48:40 while the Queen’s College boys placed 7th with a time of 43:20.

“Thanks to Scotiabank’s support, Springer Memorial was able to go to Toronto again to compete at the international level against other top high school teams from the Caribbean and North America,” said Sean Dupigny, coach of Barbados’ Springer Memorial girl’s relay team. “Through these types of opportunities, these girls get more than the chance to win a race, they gain new experiences and form friendships that enrich them. You can’t put a dollar figure on that.”

Though Scotiabank Bright Future, the Bank sponsored 11 track and field teams from high schools in the Bahamas, Barbados, Jamaica and Trinidad and Tobago who made their way to Toronto to compete against other high performing athletes from high schools in Ontario, Canada and Michigan, U.S.A.
