WEEKEND TRAGEDY: UNNATURAL DEATH OF INFANT

Police are continuing investigations into the unnatural death of Joshua Boyce, 2 years old, of 4th Avenue, Skeetes Road, Ivy, St. Michael, which occurred about 5.50 pm on Friday 03 May 2013 at 4th Avenue, Ivy, St. Michael.

Joshua was apparently struck by a motorcar driven by a male resident of the same area. Reports are that the vehicle was reversing at the time. He was taken to the QEH by private transportation, and was pronounced dead on arrival.

DRUG ERADICATION EXERCISES

{RBPF FILE IMAGE} Members of the Marine Unit conducted land eradication exercises on Friday 03 May, 2013, and seized a total of 531 cannabis plants.

• At Castle, St. Peter, 36 cannabis plants were found in a bushy area and were uprooted;
• At Welch, St. John, 495 cannabis plants were found in a bushy area and were uprooted.
• At Chalky Mount, St. Andrew, 35 cannabis filled wax-proof wrappings were found in a hut.

No arrests were made in these seizures.

DRUG LANDING

An operation was carried out by the Drug Squad on Friday 03, May 2013, assisted by the RSS and the Barbados Coast Guard and 505 lbs of cannabis was seized at Tent Bay, St. Joseph.

Sometime later, the Barbados Coast Guard intercepted the suspected drug boat off Half Moon Fort, St Lucy, and two Barbadian men were arrested and are now in police custody assisting with this investigation.
