THERE is no doubting Ninjaman’s standing as one of the most entertaining and controversial figures in dancehall/reggae.

An introduction from host Foota Hype was all it took to get the modest gathering in a frenzy. Their screams got even louder when the self-proclaimed ‘Dan Gorgon‘ took the stage, spitting the lyrics to Real Ninjaman.

Halfway through the song, there was a technical glitch to which he responded: “I am transforming into a new person. Dem want mi get terrible in ya but mi dey roun’ society people right now so mi a go mek mi decency tek over mi piggish mentality.”

Ninjaman continued his set with Border Clash, Cover Me, Save The Last Dance, Real Tight and More Reality.

He also hit out in song at members of the entertainment industry.

“Usain Bolt is a great individual and when mi see how Usain step up to the plate and uplift the country mi shame a miself and others in the music industry. We as artiste should be doing more to build our nation instead of singing ’bout gun and violence everyday,” he said.

Nature could do no wrong. The audience hung on to his every word as he sang his best known songs, World Peace and Trying Man. Ninjaman and singer Noddy Virtue closed the show with a friendly lyrical clash.
