Montserratian Architect Awarded Chevening Scholarship

Linda Dias of Lookout, a Government of Montserrat architect currently seconded to the Montserrat Development Corporation, has been awarded a prestigious Chevening scholarship for the 2013/14 academic year. Chevening scholarships are the highest awards offered by Britain’s Foreign and Commonwealth Office and are extremely competitive.

Miss Dias is one of only two British Overseas Territories citizens to be awarded with a scholarship. The other has gone to a candidate from the British Virgin Islands.

Miss Dias will study at the University of Westminster’s School of Architecture in London for a Masters in Cultural Identity and Globalisation. She leaves Brades in mid-September.

His Excellency the Governor, Adrian Davis has extended his personal congratulations to Miss Dias on her award.
