Is Barbados Free Press Dead? Ian Bourne finally vindicated! Tabloid Blog inactive for 3 weeks!
For years I have endured teasing, ribbing, jokes and outright threats how I, Ian Bourne, am both or either Barbados Free Press & B’dos Underground as well as here at Bajan Reporter – where do I find the time, I always reply… The answers are beyond ridiculous or sublime and verge on something which would be at home as something utterly ribald from either Moliere or Voltaire, maybe they were the same writer too?
Yet a recent development I have been monitoring begs to be emphasised, I was keeping track of it after a week and then I took action and still waited… Now the longest this website has been inert was about 6 days in October of 2008 when I used to work at Sanitation, then for a little over 2 weeks in 2010 due to the new site crashing under the weight of its own traffic.
While I can see why BFP and I have similar styles of sarcasm, it was never me nor my late father, now here it is the once mighty BFP has been laid low by… Who knows? If one goes underground, you may hear that the funding via Graeme Hall ran dry, but I would not advocate such a demise for this or that native son in or out of a briar patch…
Yet here I am letting you know Free Press is quiet as of May 7 per screenshot, for how much longer or if for good I have no idea, since I wrote them since Thursday (have the eMail if needed) and heard no reply since; their responses are usually via some cloaked-IP European remailer, they’re usually prompt and now I can almost see and hear a? However, knowing the perpetually dour Bajan mentality? I can hear it… “You did stop BFP because you had too much to do!” Choopse, take a long walk off a short pier and do us all a favour?
I know I will miss them if they are indeed gone, perhaps a Muslim discovered the true identity and finally laid a scimitar on whoever it or they were? I cannot abide by BFP’s Islamophobia since Caribbean Muslims, except for a few in Trinidad, seem the most placid in the world… I would miss them as BFP went where even I thought twice about and probed areas which only Matt Murdock may have considered?
Gline Clarke may throw a party for their disappearance, or my former fellow Kolijean Donville Inniss? The Police and Director of Public Prosecutions have no lost love either… As for COW or Bizzy? Damn, BFP has more of a Rogues’ Gallery than me, Spidey and Superman combined! (Ironically, people still feel both Williams’ brothers are the only folk richer than me, I am supposed to have gotten at least $5,000 per night while at CBC – I only run this site here because I’m bored… Ain’t you glad people knows me better than li’l ol’ MOI?)
But while the jury remains out or debilitated on questionable mental faculties as to if BFP and the Bajan Reporter are the same? BFP continues its hiatus and no one knows why!
