CariGES for Women hosts Garden Party & Bazaar at the Museum, April 27

The UN Heritage site of the Barbados Museum & Historical Society will come alive to the sounds of live steel pan music and much more on Saturday 27 April 2013 as the CariGES for Women Garden Party & Bazaar takes place there, beginning at 4:00pm

Patrons will be treated to a variety of exotic food and beverages, fashion show, silent auction and a lovely original Bajan arts & crafts on display for purchase. Live performances from Rosemarie Layne of La Bella Rosa School of Dance Arts, renowned spoken word maestro Adrian Green, and a steel pan ensemble will set the tone for this afternoon of superlative and unusual entertainment. Beautiful clothing, original jewelry, fine art and handicraft from Catherine Rocheford, Roz Worme, Pauline Bellamy, Venesa Onija and John Walcott will be available for purchase. Also, on sale will be confectionery from Patricia McClean and Miriam, furniture and lamps from Kurtis Greenidge and George Renée.

Box offices for this event are: The Specialist Centre, Black Rock, St. Michael; Destinations Unlimited, Peronne Village, Christ Church; Imaging & Ultrasound, Belleville, St. Michael. Tickets are $75.00 and this price includes admission and all food and beverage.

(CLICK FOR BIGGER) This is a major event for CariGES for Women, a registered charity with the stated aim of educating, uplifting and empowering women and through them, the entire society - “The hand that rocks the cradle rules the world.” CFW mid-term plans include a resource centre for women, where they can upgrade their skills and education, obtain counseling and information on pertinent issues and have access to improved health care services.

For the last two years, CariGES for Women has been hosting the Mars & Venus in Harmony public fora, discussing burning issues such as spousal abuse, endometriosis, gender equality under the law and drug abuse among the youth. The group has an active Facebook group where the public can obtain more information.
