It was smiles all around at CIBC FirstCaribbean International Bank recently when the winner of the WIBISCO 30 Days of Giveaways promotion received the grand prize – two $2,500.00 CIBC FirstCaribbean bank accounts, one of which was given to Variety, the Children’s Charity of Barbados.

Darville Sealy collected the grand prize on behalf of close friend, Jackie Clarke, saying she was surprised at her win. “When she heard she was surprised but she called back and checked. She is excited.” And when asked to nominate someone for the second $2,500.00 CIBC FirstCaribbean bank account Ms. Clarke chose Variety, the Children’s Charity of Barbados because, according to Mr. Sealy, she supports the charity’s Gold Hearts appeal every year.
Executive Director of Variety, Donnah Russell, expressed pleasure at the “surprise windfall” and thanked Ms. Clarke for her generosity. “We’re especially happy because WIBISCO has supported Variety and CIBC FirstCaribbean are our bankers. The funds will most likely go to our current project to assist special needs units with technology to enhance the learning methodologies of their students.”
Shoppers were able to take part in the promotion by buying promotional WIBISCO products. Thanking CIBC FirstCaribbean for sponsoring the grand prize, Brand Manager, Troy Best said: “It’s wonderful to have the bank on board this year to be able to share in this promotion with us.”

CIBC FirstCaribbean District Manager (Retail) Barbados, Stephane Burke, who presented the grand prize at the bank’s Warrens Head Office, said that CIBC FirstCaribbean was pleased to partner with WIBISCO. “We’re always happy to be aligned with initiatives which give back to loyal customers and it’s great to have a partner in WIBISCO.”
