New Feature for Oistins Fish Festival 2013: Who will hook the Race?

When the RUBIS sponsored fishing boat race sails off on April 1st, it will be the first time the energy company would have been involved in the festival under its new brand.

{IMAGE VIA - barbadosgolfclub.com} During a site visit, RUBIS’ Network Brand Coordinator, Ms Raydeen Hunte, explained the company was pleased to be part of the Festival.  She said, “When the organisers approached us to sponsor the 2013 Oistins Fish Festival Boat Race as an aspect of the historic festival, we were immediately on board and are pleased to be joined by our partner DaCosta Distribution Limited.”

She added, “The event is also an opportunity for us to ‘fuel’ the participating boats with our Ultra Tec gasoline from RUBIS Oistins, while DaCosta Distribution Limited is providing complimentary vouchers for Total Lubricants as part of the entire sponsorship package.”

Deputy Chairman, Oistins Fish Festival Committee, Mr Dan Carter, was happy RUBIS had agreed to support the event. He said, “The event highlights the fishermen who are at the centre of the industry and festival”. He added, “We are very pleased the competition has attracted boats from both Oistins and the other fishing hubs making for a highly competitive event.”

The RUBIS Oistins Fish Festival Boat Race 2013 begins at 2 pm from the Oistins and the boats will sail to Hastings and return to the home port. Public vantage points will include Welches, Dover Beach, St. Lawrence, Sandy Beach, Accra Beach, Rockley and along the Boardwalk at Hastings. Prizes include cash and trophies.
