The month of February, 2013 will certainly be an unforgettable one for Rodney Hunte, Keisha Hinds and Mechelle Forde, the three lucky winners of $9,000 each in Digicel’s 9th Anniversary promotion.

(Rodney Hunte - Week 1) Started on February 7 and concluded last Thursday, February 28, customers were given a chance to win $9,000 in cash each week simply by topping up with $20 or more, paying their post-paid bill on time and in full, or sending 10 or more texts in a day.

Commercial Director of Digicel (Barbados) Limited, Alex Tasker, congratulated the three winners and once again thanked all of the company’s customers for their support over the last nine years: “Without our valued customers Digicel would not be the success it is today, therefore we are always keen to showcase our gratitude, not just during our anniversary, but all throughout the year. All of our promotions are geared towards giving back to the customer, giving them the best deals and specials. They can be assured that we will continue to give back to them wherever possible and we certainly look forward to providing them with bigger, better service as we expand our operations locally.”

During the month, Digicel also gave its customers a chance to benefit from great deals on handsets. Customers were given 25 per cent off the Blackberry 9790, 9810, 9860 or 9900 when signing up for a new pre-paid service. Additionally, they could also get 50 or 75 per cent off these devices when signing up for a Digi Talk 250 minute or 400 minute plan, or free when signing up for an 800 minute plan.

(Keisha Hinds - Week 2) In the coming months Barbadians can be on the lookout for significant developments on the local telecommunications landscape thanks to Digicel’s imminent and long-awaited entry into the landline sector and its rapid growth in the Information Communications Technology (ICT) sector. With firm plans in place for considerable development in both of these areas, backed by industry leading technology and Digicel’s award winning customer service, the local market can certainly expect to benefit from the increased involvement of the Bigger, Better network.
