Communication professionals of Barbados to learn more about getting maximum value from event sponsorship
Public Relations Executive and Event Promoter, Al Gilkes, will be the feature speaker when the Barbados Chapter of the International Association of Business Communicators (IABC) hosts its next general meeting for all members and interested persons on Wednesday 06 March, 2013, from 6:00 PM in the Christie Training Room, Barbados Light & Power, Garrison.
“Event sponsorship can take many forms – and more and more, organisations are reaching out to their clients by sponsoring events with the aim of relationship building, brand awareness and direct marketing. But with the range of events on our calendars, how does one make a selection and then work with the organisers to ensure return on investment? Mr. Gilkes has been on both sides of the fence – and we are sure to learn much,” said Dr. Sharon Marshall, President of IABC Barbados.
Founded in 1970, the International Association of Business Communicators provides a network of about 15,000 business communication professionals in over 80 countries. IABC has over 100 chapters around the world, and the number is growing.
IABC Barbados recently won an international award for the ‘Highest Overall Percentage Growth’ among the Association’s chapters. Marshall explains that it is the intent of the existing Executive Board in Barbados to continue to give members and potential members fora for continuous learning and the exchange of experiences and ideas.
As such, the session on event sponsorship is free to all attendees. The Chapter is encouraging all business communicators, particularly those involved in event sponsorship, to make a special effort to attend.
New members can benefit from a discount in the registration fee during the month of March. To find out more or to join this growing body of communication professionals, please contact VP of Membership Keith Goddard at email@example.com.
