UK INFORMATION & COMMUNICATIONS TECHNOLOGY (ICT) TRADE MISSION TO VISIT BARBADOS AND ST LUCIA

The British High Commission is pleased to announce that a trade mission showcasing Information & Communication Technology and expertise will visit Barbados (6 to 7 February) and St Lucia (8 February).

This trade mission has attracted six UK companies from the fields of online services, data storage and protection, education and training, healthcare, marketing and branding, optimistic digital media and more.

The British High Commission, through UK Trade and Investment (UKTI) has worked closely with Government Ministries, institutions and private sector companies in Barbados and St Lucia to develop programmes for the visiting companies.

In Barbados, group meetings will be held with the Prime Minister’s Office, the Ministry of Commerce and Trade, the Barbados Informatics Society, Barbados Hotel & Tourism Associations and the Barbados Chamber of Commerce & Industry. In St Lucia, similar meetings will be held with the Organisation of the Eastern Caribbean States, the Ministry of Public Service, representatives from the media, and St Lucia Chambers of Commerce, Industry and Agriculture. Individual appointments are also being arranged with private sector companies.

The programmes in Barbados and St Lucia follow an extensive and successful two-day programme in Trinidad & Tobago (4-5 February).

The aim of this mission is to develop future collaboration in the growing ICT sector between the UK and the Governments of Barbados and St Lucia, along with private sector partnerships, as ICT presents opportunities to improve and streamline businesses across all sectors.
