An eight-company British delegation will visit Barbados between 5 and 7 November 2012 for the 16th annual Barbados International College Fair being held at the Lloyd Erskine Sandiford Centre on 6 and 7 November.

The companies will pursue business activities related to the education and training sector.

In addition to their participation in the two-day College Fair, the companies will pursue appointments arranged by the British High Commission with development agencies, Government bodies and private sector companies.

Mr Paul Brummell {FILE IMAGEAt Podium, in spectacles}, British High Commissioner to Barbados and the Eastern Caribbean, in welcoming this UK education sector mission to Barbados, believes the visit is timely and will further promote the quality of higher education that is available in the UK or through on-line programmes.

Delegates will receive briefings from the British High Commission and major local education stakeholders to learn more about Barbados’ education facilities, current and region-wide education and training programmes.

The delegation’s visit is being funded by UK Trade & Investment (UKTI), the Government organisation that helps UK companies succeed in the global economy and assists overseas companies to bring their high quality investment to the UK.

Delegation members represent well-known UK educational institutions, namely: Edinburgh Business School, Pearson-Edexcel, GSE-Research Ltd, The Training Gateway, The University of Warwick, TVET-UK, Consulting Wisdom Ltd and Oldham College.

Companies will offer a range of education and training courses and services that will be of interest to the local education community – students, institutions, educators, parents and guardians.
