U.S. Embassy-Supported Youth Tennis Program to Hold Mini-Tournament

60 aspiring young tennis players from three primary schools will take part in a mini tournament on Thursday 15th November, 2012 at the National Tennis Center at the Garfield Sobers Sports Complex. The tournament will begin at 10:30 a.m.

{FILE IMAGE} These students are participants in a youth tennis program supported by the United States Embassy and carried out in association with the Barbados Tennis Association (BTA), the Barbados Olympic Association, and the National Sports Council. The mini-tournament will bring together participants from the programs at all three schools, giving them an opportunity to test their newly-learned skills.

United States Ambassador Larry L. Palmer and President of the Barbados Tennis Association; Dr. Raymond Forde will speak at the start of the event. Ambassador Palmer, media and invited guests from the private sector will then take a tour of the courts while the tournament is ongoing.
