Jamaican on drug charges: Court results, plus – New Orleans & Chapman Lane Men on serious charges

Jamaican national arrested on drug charges

1. Michael Edward Richards, a 54 year old Salesman, Jamaican National was arrested and charged with committing the following offences on 12-11-07, whilst at the Grantley Adams International Airport.

1. Possession of a controlled drug to wit: Cannabis
2. Possession with intent to supply to wit: Cannabis
3. Trafficking
4. Importation

The subject arrived in Barbados by air from Jamaica about 19:50 hours. He was cleared by Immigration and was interviewed by police. He was referred to the Queen Elizabeth Hospital where he passed out a total of 109 packages suspected to be cannabis. Total weight 3 lbs.

He appeared at the District B Magistrate Court on Tuesday 13 November 2012.

Court Results

2. Following on the New Orleans sweep by officers – the following appeared on separate charges at the District A Magistrate Court on November 12, 2012, and they were remanded to appear separately at the District A Magistrate Court on December 10, 2012:

1. Danrade Wayne Moise, 26 years of 8th Avenue New Orleans, St. Michael was arrested and charged for Illegal Possession of 1 round of ammunition.
2. Damian Antonio Branch 28 years of Longford Place, Waterford, St. Michael was arrested and charged for the offences of :
• Illegal possession of a .32 firearm
• Illegal possession of 6 rounds ammunition

3. Zico Romon Maynard 26 years of Pounders Gap, Westbury Road, St. Michael was arrested and charged for the offences of:
• Illegal possession of a firearm
• Illegal possession of quantity ammunition
• Illegal possession of a small quantity of cannabis.

Men charged for weapons related offences

3. Darrell Obrian Harris, 38 yrs of Block D, Barbarees Gardens, Barbarees Hill, St. Michael, and Keimar Stephen Romel Wharton, 23 yrs of Sobers Lane, St. Michael, was arrested and charged with committing the following offences.

• Four counts of endangering life
• Three counts of Wounding
• Possession two firearms

Harris and Wharton are accused of committing the offences whilst at 7th Avenue New Orleans, St. Michael. The victims Lamar Hewitt, Terique Howard and Tyson Lovell were at the home of Alec Lovell and were injured as a result of the shooting which took place endangering their lives.

They are expected to appear at the District A Magistrate Court on Tuesday 13 November 2012.

More males charged – Robbery

4. Shaquille O’Neal Cumberbatch, 17 years of #72, Golden Rock, Pinelands, St. Michael and Cory Fernando Greaves, 34 years of Sheraton Park, Christ Church, and Dwayne Corey Omar Morgan 32 years of Parris Gap, Westbury Road, St. Michael for the following offences:

• Cumberbatch for 2 counts of robberies
• Cumberbatch and Greaves were jointly charged for one count of theft
• Cumberbatch and Greaves were jointly charged for three (3) counts of robbery
• Cumberbatch, Greaves and Morgan were jointly charged for one count of illegal possession of ammunition.

They appeared at the District A Magistrate Court on Tuesday 13 November 2012.

5. Corey Omar Morgan 32 yrs of Parris Gap, Westbury Road, St. Michael was also arrested and charged for the following offences on 12-05-25, while at the Grantley Adams International Airport.

• Possession of a controlled drug to wit cannabis
• Possession with intent to supply
• Trafficked in a controlled drug
• Imported a controlled drug to wit cannabis

On the mentioned date about 12:40 hrs the accused went to the Grantley Adams International Airport, to collect a television containing ten taped packages containing a vegetable matter suspected to be cannabis a controlled. As the television was being checked by Customs Officers in his presence, he ran away. The weight of the drugs is 6 ½ pounds.

6. Morgan is also charged for the following offences when he became involved in a vehicular accident which occurred on 27 March 2012 at Lower Estate. He fled the scene:

• No drivers Licence
• No third party insurance
• Fraudulent use of number plate
• No taxes
• Driving without due care and attention
• Driving without reasonable consideration.

7. Charles Folton Bellamy, 46 yrs of Spencers Gap, Baxters Road, St. Michael, was arrested and charged with committing the following offences on 12-11-12, whilst at his residence.

• Possession a controlled drug to wit cocaine
• Possession with intent to supply
• Trafficking.

A warrant was executed at his residence where the drugs were found. The total weight is 2.2 grams

8. David Richard Peter Selman, 39 yrs of Chapman Lane St. Michael, was arrested and charged with committing the following offences about 11:45 hrs on 12-11-12, whilst at his residence

• Possession a controlled drug to wit cannabis
• Possession with intent to supply
• Trafficking.

A warrant was executed at Selman’s residence and a loose quantity of cannabis, eleven cannabis plants were found hanging on lines being dried, a loose quantity of cannabis, one hundred and sixty-eight cannabis trees, ranging from 3 inches to 8 feet were found. The drug weighed 52.5 pounds.

Bellamy and Selman made an appearance at the District A Magistrate Court separately on Tuesday 13 November 2012.
