“Ivory was one of the best bands going at the time. Attending your gigs was always a highlight of our time there. I remember you guys used to come north to Toronto and do a few shows in the ballroom of the King Edward hotel downtown and later at a hotel out by the airport and another place out that way in 1981. The last time I saw Ivory in Barbados would have been 1984 I think. The venue was a bar down by the beach with the stage on the sand and the dance floor being the beach itself. What a workout dancing on the sand was. Great to see you’re still at it and hope to see you guys again before time passes us all by. I’d be requesting “98 Degrees In The Shade“, “Juicy Miss Lucy”, “Samba Pa Ti”, “Jump“, a Beatles medley and well the list is endless as you always did a top notch job on them all. I remember meeting one of Andrew’s girls down at Accra Beach one afternoon and on another occasion found myself standing behind Keith Richards in the cashiers lineup at the Cracker Barrel convenience store located at the Sunset Crest Resort. There’s a pic of Keith and his partner in his bio “Life” taken on the beach in Barbados that same year. Yep, lots and lots of memories!”
