Young Bajan Summer campers learn about recycling, thanks to British HC
In the last week of the Helping Hands summer camp’s programme of activities, almost fifty young campers and their counsellors visited the British High Commission and the High Commissioner’s Residence to learn about climate change, recycling and sustainable living.
Joining forces with the Future Centre Trust, the High Commission staff entertained the youngsters with storytime, featuring FCT characters Bri the humming bird and Luk the polar bear. They then had a fun recycling Olympics, sorting out plastics, metals and glass into receptacles, before being treated to a picnic lunch.
Beforehand, the group spent an hour at the High Commission offices watching the highlights of the recent Olympic Games which took place in London.
