Montserrat’s National Awards Bill to be discussed on “The People’s Show”

The Honourable Parliamentary Secretary Jermaine Wade will be discussing the proposed National Awards bill this Wednesday on The People’s Show hosted by Hero Cassell on ZJB Radio Montserrat.

The parliamentary secretary will be joined by Honourable Member of the Opposition Victor James {FEATURED} as well as a representative from the Attorney General’s Chambers to discuss the merits of the bill which seeks to identify and honour the island’s outstanding citizens in a number of areas.

The Bill proposes the establishment of a National Honours and Awards Committee which will consider nominations for the Order of National Hero; the Order of Excellence; the Order of Distinction; and the Order of Merit.

The National Youth Awards Selection Committee will identify nominees for the National Youth Awards which will honour residents of Montserrat between the ages of 15-30 years who have excelled locally, regionally or internationally or contributed to national development in one of the following areas: Sports, Academics, Leadership, Entrepreneurship, Arts and Culture, Music and Entertainment, International/Regional Achievements, Religious Involvement, Youth in Service, any other related area.
