Digicel expands its Vincentian service with new branch in Canouan

The cornerstone of Digicel’s philosophy and success has been to build bigger and better networks and services coupled with reduced prices, offering best in class customer service whilst contributing back to the local community. With this store the cellular and internet provider continues to live by this philosophy.

According to Digicel’s OECS South’s CEO Barry O’Brien – the original idea for this store came from a staff meeting in Barbados a few months back. Rob Lyons, Islands Manager for Canouan and the Grenadines noticed that customers were looking for a retail outlet where they could get easy access to Digicel’s product and services and also get advice from Digicel staff.

The store itself will provide customers with a world class Digicel retail outlets with the unique feature of also being a Digicel Office. The office will be open to answer all queries supported by Digicel staff in St Vincent and the rest of the Eastern Caribbean.

The evolution of wireless technology combined with this islands demand for telecommunications has allowed Digicel the opportunity to expand its core business from that of a mobile operator to a complete telecommunications provider here.

This store reinforces the fact that Digicel is 100% committed to remaining the premier mobile provider for mobile services in Canouan. Additionally, Digicel added a macro cell site earlier this year to ensure they give the best coverage in St Vincent. They’re also committed to ensuring that Digicel Mobile coverage maintains pace as the resort and island dwelling expands as they also plan for the future roll-out of 4G.

The evolution of wireless technology combined with St  Vincent’s demand for telecommunications has allowed Digicel the opportunity to expand its core business from that of a mobile operator to a complete telecommunications provider for the region. This has been made all the more possible with the acquisition of the foremost Caribbean ICT company Netxar who will interface in Canouan.
