The Central Bank of Barbados just announced for the first time ever the Workshop of the Latin American Finance Network (LFN) will be held in the Caribbean. This Workshop, hosted in collaboration with the Inter-American Development Bank (IDB) and the World Bank’s Office of the Chief Economist, is scheduled for The Crane Hotel, St. Philip on September 13-14, 2012.

The focus for this the eighth LFN Workshop will be on the changing face of global and regional finance. There will be several thematic sessions based on presented papers ranging from “The Effects on Credit Subsidies on Development’ to ‘The Impact of Formal Credit on Informal Households”.

These papers and several more will see Presenters and Discussants from the International Monetary Fund, University of Cambridge, Brown University, World Bank, Central Bank of Barbados, World Bank and several other leading financial and academic institutions.

The Workshop is closed to the public.

Participants will hear from Minister of Finance, Christopher Sinckler, Governor of the Central Bank of Barbados, Dr. DeLisle Worrell and Professor Avinash Persaud, Senior Fellow, London Business School and Chairman, Intelligence Capital Limited. This event attracts practitioners from the fields of banking and finance along with academic staff.
