Temporary traffic arrangements, re: Bridgetown Market

Bridgetown Market 2012 will be staged over this Public Holiday weekend until Sunday 5th August on the Spring Garden Highway.

From Friday, 3rd the activities are scheduled to commence at 6 pm and conclude at mid-night. On the other two (2) days the activities commence at 9 am and conclude at 11 pm.

Inspector Welch says; “To facilitate this event a number of temporary traffic arrangements shall be in effect between 5 pm and midnight on Friday and between 8 am and midnight on the other two days.”

Road Closure

Spring Garden Highway, from its junction with Holborn Circle to its junction with Brighton Road, shall be closed to all vehicular traffic except vehicles used by members of the Crop Over Festival Committee.

One Way

Fontabelle shall be a one-way street with traffic flowing into the city. Lower Westbury Road shall also be one way from its junction with Goodland to its junction with President Kennedy Drive with traffic flowing toward President Kennedy Drive.

No Parking

No person shall park or allow a vehicle to remain stationary on any of the following roads except for the purpose of picking up or setting down passengers: Brighton Road, Black Rock Main Road from its junction with University Drive to its junction with Eagle Hall, Deacons Farm Road from its junction with Deacons Road to its junction with Brighton Road, Deacons Road and Westbury Road.


All persons using the roads mentioned shall exercise caution and shall comply with any order given by a member of the Police Force in uniform.

Any person who contravenes these rules or fails to comply with any order given by a member of the Police Force in uniform, is guilty of an offence and is liable on summary conviction to a fine of $500 or to imprisonment for a term of three (3) months.
