Dancehall King Sean Paul’s “Tomahawk Technique” to touch U.S. soil

US audiences are all set for the fall release of multi-platinum, Grammy award winning Sean Paul‘s latest album, Tomahawk Technique.

The album, which has done extremely well with hit singles She Doesn’t Mind and Got 2 Luv U, will hit stores in September following on its June Caribbean release and its introduction to Asian and European audiences earlier this year.

Enthusiastic about the album, Sean Paul stated that “Tomahawk Technique is doing amazing” in a recent interview with the Gleaner. The artiste has been touring Europe to promote the album since Thursday, June 21. The collection is particularly special to the artiste as he was the key producer –signing off on his new acclamation as a producer, having particularly produced Roll Wid Di Don for the album.

The artiste, explained the significance behind the album’s name saying, “I call it Tomahawk Technique because I think it’s cutting-edge, as to what dancehall can offer to the world right now.” The album has received a lot of traction thus far and is a testament of his musical growth.

Tomahawk Technique is poised for international success with its string of easily likeable dance-floor beats…”according to as the album showcases new rhythms that add to the artiste’s creativity and musical style. The tracks showcase Sean Paul’s signature, down-to-earth sound amid the various artiste collaborations with R&B singer, Kelly Rowland, pop singer, Alexis Jordan, among others. Sean Paul, in reviewing his album, expressed that “I think it sounds pretty cool, and I think people should like a couple of the songs on there”.

The album is predominantly hybrid dancehall as the dancehall flavour has been merged with hip hop, pop and techno tempos as shown respectively in some of the album’s hit singles How Deep is Your Love, She Doesn’t Mind and Touch the Sky. The album is also home to more hit singles like Got 2 Luv U, Wedding Crashers and Dream Girl, all of which have videos which depict different aspects of the artiste’s personality.

For this album, Sean Paul worked alongside Future Fambo, DJ Ammo, Kelly Rowland and Alexis Jordan. Got 2 Luv U and She Doesn’t Mind have shared the number one spot in Switzerland and Austria and are among the top 10 singles in other countries.

The artiste has voiced many well-liked, cross-over Dancehall tunes like Gimme the Light, Like Glue, I’m Still In Love, Get Busy, Baby Boy, Ever Blazing, Temperature and Watch them Roll. Sean Paul continues to receive international recognition for his signature sound and distinct application of Jamaica’s music to the international market. The performer has collaborated with many artistes like Beyonce, Keyshia Cole, Pretty Ricky and others.
