Chamber Of Commerce Joins With Rest of Barbados to Observe Minute’s Silence on September 3rd

The Barbados Chamber of Commerce & Industry (BCCI) has encouraged its members and the entire business community in Barbados to help commemorate the second anniversary of the Campus Trendz Tragedy by observing a minute’s silence on Monday 3rd September 2012.

President of the Chamber, Mr. Lalu Vaswani said the Chamber had no hesitation in lending its support to the effort, which is being spearheaded by the September 3rd Foundation, as a means of promoting the values of peace, love, non-violence and forgiveness.

{FILE IMAGE} The September 3rd Foundation was established to memorialize Pearl Cornelius, Kelly Ann Welch, Kellishaw Olliverre, Nikkita Belgrave, Tiffany Harding and Shanna Griffith, the six young victims of the tragedy. The Foundation has indicated that the day will also be used to honour all other innocent victims of violent crime.

To this end, at 12 noon on Monday, September 3rd, members of the local business community will be observing a minute’s silence or prayer as a show of support.
