Police gave their¬†official¬†statement six hours after Social Media broke the story, the online Nation also scoured Facebook;- “Police officer Alexis Edwards, 29, died on the spot in the accident which occurred on Bush Hall Main Road.”

A lone vehicle accident resulting in a fatality occurred about 6:10 am on Saturday 18 August 2012 on Bush Hall Main Road, with its junction with Civilian Road, Bush Hall, St. Michael. Initial investigation revealed that the vehicle ran off the road and crashed into a guard wall at the junction.

The deceased is Alexis Edwards, 29 years, of Pioneer Road, Bush Hall, St. Michael. She was a Police Constable attached to the District A Police Station.

She was off duty at the time of the accident and died at the scene. She was the front seat passenger in a double cab L200 vehicle driven by Kirk White, 28 years of Rock Dundo Heights, St. Michael. The body of Jon Moe 27 years of 1st Avenue Jackson, St. Michael was discovered floating off the beach at East Coast Road, St Andrew, by a man who was fishing, about 10:00am on Saturday August 18, 2012. The man pulled the body to shore and summoned the police.

On Friday August 17, 2012, Jon Moe went to the beach at East Coast Road, in the area of Barclays Park, with his father Charles Nord and his sister. Initial investigations revealed that about 3:00 pm he went into the surf and was pulled into the water by the tide. Efforts by his father to save him proved futile and Jon was pulled further out and under.

The body of Jon Moe was today identified by his mother Roslyn Moe of the same address. The area where the body was discovered floating is about a mile north of where he went into the water.
