Two deserving students from the 2012 graduating class of the St. Mary’s Primary School have been recognised by Goddard Enterprises Ltd. (GEL) and rewarded with scholarships to assist them in making the transition to secondary school.

Amrita Adhim and Hakeem Best were each presented with scholarships valued $1,500 each to assist with purchasing uniforms and other requirements necessary to enter secondary school by Ms. Sue Lynch, Group Human Resources Manager of GEL, during the City school’s recently held graduation ceremony.

In making the presentations, Ms. Lynch reminded the gathering of parents, guardians, teachers, students and other guests that it had now been over nine years since GEL officially adopted St. Mary’s Primary. She said the company’s efforts at contributing to the welfare of the school had indeed reaped rewards of satisfaction in seeing students perform at their very best.

Ms. Lynch also called on parents to continue to give their unswerving support to the school, students and teachers. “If we all work together we can achieve our goals and this school can be a standard bearer for primary education,” Ms. Lynch stated.

During her report, Principal Ms. Jennifer Robinson said GEL was among companies and individuals to whom the school was indebted, and thanked the company for making the annual scholarship presentations.

“We would like to show our gratitude to GEL, whose personnel featured again this year in discussions with the graduands, as well as making donations to the school for fund raising and the purchase of equipment,” the Principal stated.

The graduating students were urged by both Ms. Lynch and their Principal to value the investment being made in their education.
