With scores of 100 in Mathematics, 97 in English and an A in composition, Matthew will be attending Harrison College in September where he intends to pursue studies related to his dream of becoming a Chemist.

Principal of St. Pauls Primary, Mrs. Sandra Small-Thompson, said the Matthew’s performance was indicative of the hard work he and the other 80 students put in during the lead up to this year’s examination:

“The overall results were quite pleasing. An example of this being the fact that more than half of the 81 students to sit the examination this year scored between 80 and 100 in Mathematics. We are certainly elated to have achieved these types of results and look forward to even better performances next year.”

Mrs. Roach also applauded the performance of the students and reaffirmed Global Directories/Barbados Yellow Pages’ commitment to assisting with the continued development of the school:

“When we decided to adopt St. Paul’s Primary we did so knowing how hard the teachers and students worked to achieve great academic results. We therefore sat down with the principal and looked at ways in which we could assist with the development of well-rounded individuals and are very elated with the results they have produced. We remain committed to providing them with as much support as possible in an effort to ensure continued success.”

Earlier this year Global Directories/Barbados Yellow Pages embarked on a set of activities to support St. Paul’s Primary as part of their decision to adopt the Brittons Hill Cross Road institution. Throughout the course of the year and beyond, the Belleville based company will be working closely with the school to provide targeted assistance to its various programmes.
