BARP’s legal seminar on Wills, Estates and Property matters was well attended by its members on Saturday 19th May at the Law Lecture Theatre of UWI’s Cave Hill Campus.
Attorneys-At-Law Woodbine Davis O.E.B, Q.C and Trena Kellman LL.B gave clear and cogent presentations on matters of the law and ably responded to questions from the eager audience.
Legal points were raised on the importance of making wills and how to avoid the pitfalls of an improperly made will that can cause acrimony between family members after you are gone.
How to have your tenant rental arrangements legitimate by having a proper rental contract drafted and also registering the arrangement with Inland Revenue.
Matters pertaining to transfer of property, marriage and divorce issues were also highlighted as well.
Members would have left with a clearer understanding of what would have been complex issues before, thanks to the effective presentations by Davis and Kellman. Kudos to BARP for hosting this educational event for its members and organizing Chair Person and her committee for another excellent production.
