KFC Lauds Efforts of St. Stephen’s Primary Teachers and Assists Students With Exam Preparations
KFC is ensuring that the hard work and dedication shown by some of this island’s teachers in preparing students for the upcoming Common Entrance Examinations has not gone unnoticed.
Recently, the fast food emporium made a donation to teachers at the St. Stephen’s Primary School responsible for readying their Class 4 students ahead of the Tuesday 8 May 2012 exams.
KFC presented vouchers to the teachers of the four classes, in addition to the school’s physical education teacher and Principal as a way of acknowledging their dedicated efforts.
Marketing Coordinator at KFC, Shekelia Barrow, said KFC has continually showed its support for this island’s youth, particularly in the areas of sports, but saw it necessary to acknowledge the work of those teachers whom parents entrust the welfare of their children to each day:
“Teachers rarely receive the praise they deserve for the hard work they put in with our nation’s youth, a situation which KFC is looking to change by drawing attention to the fact that without these dedicated educators the future development of our children would be compromised. We are delighted to work with the teachers at St. Stephen’s Primary and are confident that the assistance we have provided them will go a long way towards ensuring positive results in this year’s examinations.”
Earlier in the year, KFC donated large reams of paper to the school in an effort to assist with the students’ examination preparations. When approached by KFC, Class 4 Year Head, Margaret Thompson, indicated the need for these supplies of paper for use in the printing of past-papers distributed to the students for practice leading up to the big day.
“We were very grateful when KFC provided us with the large supply of paper. This assisted immensely with the students’ preparations for next Tuesday’s examinations and as a result we are confident they will achieve great results. We are also truly honoured to be acknowledged for the work we put in with these children, which for each of us has become our life’s passion. KFC has been a good friend to the Stephen’s Primary School and we look forward to strengthening this relationship going forward.”
As a further boost to their preparations, KFC also presented the Class 4 students with examination packs, containing a clip board, 2 pencils, a sharpener, an eraser and a ruler.
