The Barbados Water Authority working to restore water to St. James and St. Peter areas affected by outages

The BWA is informing Barbados it’s currently experiencing water supply problems in a number of St. James and St. Peter districts.

The outages have resulted from pump problems being experienced at its Haymans facility which in turn feeds the Warleigh Pumping Station.

The BWA regrets the inconvenience to its valued customers. 246-429-6164 PBX | 246-836-4741 DIRECT & Fax: 246-429-6193

As a result, the BWA is now unable to pump from this Station to its Reservoirs at Shop Hill, Rock Hall and Mount Stepney.

This situation has caused outages to several areas situated along Highway 2A between Orange Hill in St. James and Boscobelle in St. Peter. The outages are impacting residents of districts such as Rock Hall, Apes Hill, Mount Stepney and Walkers and Flat Rock in St. George.

BWA Operations & Maintenance personnel are working to rectify the pump problem. Once resolved, water will then be able to flow back into the stations mentioned above and supply the affected areas.

The Authority has dispatched water tankers to assist customers in the affected areas as an interim measure.
