DIGICEL’S RUN TO LONDON CAMPAIGN GAINS TRACTION ACROSS THE CARIBBEAN AND CENTRAL AMERICA
Following on from the recent launch of the ‘Run to London’ campaign, Digicel is taking Olympics preparation to the next level with the launch of its latest promotions, in association with its official Olympic partner, Samsung.
The first phase of the ‘Run to London’ campaign utilized user generated content – a first for Digicel in the region – which called on everyone in Digicel’s Caribbean and Central American markets to upload photos of themselves in the running position to Digicel’s Facebook page and have the chance of being featured in an ad with the man himself, Usain Bolt.
With over 16,000 Facebook hits to date for this campaign alone, and more expected over the coming days, people from all across the world have been putting on their red T-shirts and entering their photos. The winners will be selected when the campaign winds up in just six days.
The second phase of the campaign sees Digicel and Samsung bringing the action of the Olympics to their customers with exciting promotions and competitions. With the purchase of select Samsung handsets or tablet devices, customers stand a chance of winning a grand prize of a Samsung 40 inch LCD TV along with other prizes courtesy of Digicel. Digicel Group Director of Marketing Operations, Kieran Foley, described the campaign as “a great opportunity to win cool prizes from two great companies.”
He continues, “Digicel is a company that is committed to offering the best value, best service and best network to all our customers. Partnering with Samsung, an official Olympic partner, is a winning team and we want our customers to have a share of the prizes.
In anticipation of the summer Olympics in London, Digicel and Samsung want customers to take advantage of the amazing deals being offered on select Samsung handsets and tablet devices as well as the chance of winning a 40 inch Samsung LCD Television. And don’t forget, when you enter the Run to London competition, you have a chance of appearing in an ad with a world icon and Olympic Champion, Usain Bolt!”
