#Barbados #Entrepreneurs Foundation – Estonian W-Fi activist to present at BEF Entrepreneurs’ Forum
Estonian Wi-Fi activist Valjo Haamer, the vision behind the free Wi-Fi movement that has made Estonia an international model for the provision of free Wi-Fi access to its people, is the featured presenter at the next BEF quarterly entrepreneurs’ forum.
Valjo spearheaded the culture of free wireless access points all across his homeland for the past decade, becoming somewhat of an expert on WiFi-related matters in the Baltic region.
In the relaxed and interactive atmosphere of the forum, he will share his wealth of knowledge and many of his experiences, with a view to assisting us on our journey towards creating a nation where WiFi access functions as a gateway to education, productivity, business development and communication in the global community. The forum is scheduled for Tuesday April 24th at the Plantation Garden Theatre, St. Lawrence Main Road, Christ Church from 6:00 pm – 8:00 pm.
Still striving towards its goal of delivering 100% free Wi-Fi access, the business facilitation pillar of the BEF continues to not only reach out to the private and public sectors but also engage the masses in this mission. Thanks to numerous individuals, private businesses, statutory organisations, community centres, churches and social media marketing, the project has now amassed more than 115 free Wi-Fi points accessible by the public across the island. This in turn translates into an estimated 70% access, much to the pleasure of locals and visitors alike.
