On Sunday April 22, 2012, about 1.15 pm, RBPF received a report that a vessel was on fire at sea, off the west coast of Barbados.

Personnel from the Barbados Coast Guard were dispatched to investigate the fire.

From initial investigations, the yacht ‘Big Deal’ owned by Sidney Brooker of Frere Pilgrim, Christ Church was destroyed.

It has been reported that Mr. Brooker and 7 other persons were returning to the island and just after midnight on April 22, the yacht experienced a problem to one of its engines and it caught fire.
