Caribbean’s Most Awarded Brand capped by Banks Beer of Barbados in Advertising Contest #banksbeer #barbados #addy #beverage
Management of Banks popped their collective cork when they learned they were the most creatively awarded brand in the Caribbean when its recently appointed creative agency, Red Advertising won 19 awards on its behalf at the 2012 American Advertising Federation ADDY awards. This also included the prestigious “Best of Show – Print” for their Banks Amber Ale campaign “I am my own role model”, and 12 Gold ADDYs.
Jevan Jutagir, Managing Director of Red, bubbled over his victory;- “Having just won the account in August 2011 we were delighted to find that our work on these iconic brands was already beginning to bear fruit in terms of notice-ability and cut-through. We won awards for our work on the 50th Anniversary, Banks Amber Ale, packaging design including the new Banks can, ambient campaigns as well as on our search for the Golden Calendar Girl. Our next challenge is to turn this attention grabbing creative approach towards ensuring continued growth in an increasingly competitive market. However we are sure that the strength of the Banks brand with all true, red blooded Barbadians will prevail as will the investment in the Caribbean’s newest and most advanced brewery at Newton. I would also like to thank the Board and management at Banks Breweries for giving Red a chance to work on their fantastic brands. To paraphrase an old song “We’ve only just begun!”
Mr. Bernard Frost, Marketing Manager at Banks Holdings congratulated Red on their achievement;- “To be the most awarded brand in the Caribbean is indeed an honour. Having said that this year is a big year for Banks Breweries with the opening of the new brewery and the first time export of Banks Caribbean Lager into the UK and Europe, so it was fitting that we began work with what has become the Caribbean’s most creative agency, Red. The Caribbean’s best beer and the Caribbean’s most creative agency is sure to be a formidable team, I am confident that together we can bring more creative and exciting campaigns to the market and remind all Barbadians to put Barbados first! Well done Red, we look forward to even stronger work next year!”
