Harris Paints’ Facebook Fans In the “Best” of Moods across the Caribbean

Three ardent Caribbean Champions of Colour Facebook fans are in the best of moods having been recently chosen from among the many entries submitted for the Harris Ulttima “Best by Test” promotion which ran from October to December, 2011.

Following extensive comparative laboratory testing of the major coating brands made in the Caribbean, Harris Paints Ulttima was proven “Best by Test” with respect to many paint performance attributes, and the ensuing competition asked customers to go online to the Champions of Colour Facebook page at www.facebook.com/championsofcolour and tell them in their own words why they thought Harris Ulttima is “Best by Test”. Anyone who shared their Harris quality story was automatically entered into a draw to win one of three iPad 2’s.

Reeko Lynch from Barbados when contacted and informed of his prize, was quite excited as he had never won anything on Facebook before:

I’m elated to have been rewarded with such a great prize in return for my Best by Test entry… Harris Ulttima truly is the Best!

Jamaica Winner: Marcia Higgins (centre), the lucky winner of an Ipad 2, being presented to by Shyian Daley-Boothe, Sales & Marketing Assistant (left) and Alecia Morris (right) Retail Services Manager of B-H Paints

Reeko’s winning entry centred on his family experiencing Ulttima for the first time:

Before I start, let me just say the only problem I had whatsoever … was running out of things that needed painting! For years my family has been using the other brand of paint and while the results were pretty okay, we decided, like all things, it was time for change – Enter Harris Ulttima. After many talks and advice from professionals in that field, we took a trip to the nearest Colourcentre to find the right paint for our home projects. The customer service we received was EXCELLENTthe store reps on the job made sure we got the PERFECT match for EVERY colour we brought forth! Incredible! With a smile on our faces and Harris Ulttima in hand, we headed home and began to brighten up our dull area. Now I’m no professional painter by any means, but let me tell you this paint made me think otherwise! The flow was remarkable – for once there was more paint on my walls than myself – and the finish was beyond my expectations! We painted the walls, touched up the ceiling, went outside to the front porch and brightened up the dog house too…! I will definitely be using Harris from now on – the BEST customer service coupled with the BEST product, upon my experience, has surely proven to me that this is the BEST BY TEST.”

Similarly, Marcia Higgins of Jamaica was thrilled upon winning one of the iPad’s having submitted several entries. The one which stood out was a video of Marcia’s colour journey at one of B-H Paints newest Colourcentres, Premier Plaza in Kingston, Jamaica which led to her choosing colours and showing the finished results in her home. The video can be viewed under the videos tab on the Caribbean Champions of Colour Facebook page.

Meanwhile in Guyana, Gavin Thomas indicated that his Ipad2 could not have come at a better time and was proud that his entry was adjudged one of the Best:

What I am about to share is not just a true story but the birth of a LEGACY. It all started in the summer (Guyana, 2010) when the boys and I were at a stage of exploring life… We would attend various parties but after spending more than we could’ve actually afforded on keeping up with partying, we came to a conclusion that it would be wiser and beneficial to us if we had a place set aside that we would callThe Chill Zone“. It so happened that my Grandfather who was a mason had died and left his land to our family. After working out the legal framework, the boys and I decided to choose that land for our prime location; it took us not more than 3 months to get the spot kicking. We thought of using a paint of high quality that had already made its name in the industry and my mother then told me my grandfather’s favourite paint of choice was none other than Harris Paints. We were so moved by the stories that we chose Harris Paints as well to do the job for us. It so turned out that Harris Paints Ulttima was perfect for the job and many people commended us on the job done; they couldn’t stop mentioning the atmosphere that was created. I must say that up to today, the paint looks just as it looked over 2 years ago when we first painted and this is my Harris Best by Test story. Harris will always be a part of our life and our first choice in paints no matter where we go!

Simone Reeves, Marketing Manager for the Harris Group said the company wanted to reward its valued customers and Facebook fans for their continued support:

Our customers have been very loyal to us over our almost 40-year history and within just 7 months, our Facebook fan base has grown to over 11,000, with about 5% actively engaged daily, staying updated on all the fun initiatives we’re doing across the region. We therefore wanted to give back to them and we did this by selecting 3 great prizes. As the Caribbean Champions of Colour, Harris Paints stands by its products, and remains committed to providing the best paints, the best solutions and also the best prizes to its customers.”
