Barbados Police on the trail for 2012: Murder at Gully Hill solved along with other shootings

The Royal Barbados Police Force made a breakthrough into the murder of Damien Mitchell and have charged several persons for other offences arising from shooting incidents at Roebuck Street on 24th December 2011 and at Gully Hill, Carrington Village on the 1st January 2012.

1. Stephon Deaigo Miller 20 years of 3rd Avenue Nurse Land, Tweedside Road St. Michael has been arrested and charged for murdering Damien Mitchell.

2. He has also received the following charges arising out of that incident at Gully Hill, Carrington Village on the 1st January 2012.
Using a firearm while committing an indictable offence
• Illegal possession of a firearm
• Discharged a firearm in a public place
• Violent Disorder

3. A 15 YEAR OLD MALE of Halls Road, St. Michael was arrested and charged for Incitment (Gully Hill, Carrington Village)

4. Nico Akeem Rayside, 19 years of Hinds Gap, Halls Road, St. Michael, who was shot and injured on the January 01, 2012 was released from hospital and has been arrested and charged for the following offences arising out of the shooting on JANUARY 1st 2012 at Gully Hill, Carrington Village-

• Wounding
• Discharged a firearm in a public place
• Used a firearm while committing an indictable offence
• Illegal possession a firearm
• Violent Disorder

5. Charges arising out of the shooting at Roebuck Street, St. Michael on DECEMBER 25, 2011 –
• Violent Disorder
• Illegal possession of firearm
• Serious Bodily Harm to Andrew Watson
• Serious Bodily Harm to Lamar Hewitt
• Discharged a firearm in a public place
• Used of firearm while committing an indictable offence

6. Lemar Alex Hewitt, 20 years of 8th Avenue, New Orleans, St. Michael was arrested and charged with Violent Disorder whilst Roebuck Street.

The mentioned accused persons are expected to appear at Court today January 9th 2012.
