Barbados Yellow Pages/Global Directories Challenges You To “Get Discovered”

Barbados Yellow Pages/Global Directories is looking for the next face of Barbados Yellow Pages and as such are calling all models to “Get Discovered” in their latest online competition.

Being run on Facebook, the contest invites professional and aspiring models to submit a headshot along with a full body shot for a chance to be featured in the upcoming Global Directories/Barbados Yellow Pages “Get Discovered” campaign.

Interested persons are asked to visit www.facebook.com/BarbadosYellowPages to submit their photos, as well as to vote for their favourite model. At the end of the contest, which is scheduled to run until 31st December 2011, the model with the most votes will be chosen as the peoples’ choice winner, while a judging panel will select the overall winner of the search and the model to be featured in the upcoming campaign.

Pam Roach, Marketing Manager with Global Directories, said the decision to conduct the search in this way was based on the realisation of the extensive talent which exists locally:

Barbados possesses a wealth of modelling talent which we see everyday in numerous advertising campaigns, on the catwalk at modelling shows and also in the many beauty competitions held throughout the year. Outside of this realm we believe there are many other individuals which are well suited to be the face of Barbados Yellow Pages who are not currently associated with advertising or modelling agencies, therefore we wanted to open up the search to them and possibly find a fresh face to represent our brand.”

This contest follows the “Hello Yellow” and “Barbados 24/7 Giveaway” photo competitions held earlier this year, also on Facebook. Both competitions were very well received, with a number of entries submitted and thousands of votes received. With considerable interest being seen locally in the advertising and modelling industry, considerable interest is expected to be generated throughout the duration of the competition.
