KFC Keeping Charles F. Broome Students Cool

Students of the Charles F. Broome Memorial Primary School will enjoy a much cooler learning environment thanks to a recent donation by KFC.

KFC presented standing fans to the Government Hill, St. Michael institution as part of their continued efforts to make valuable contributions to the nation’s schools.

Marketing Coordinator at KFC, Shekelia Barrow, said KFC is always keen to assist schools on the island and this particular donation was “refreshing” because it increases the comfort level of teachers and students and in our tropical climate that will make a significant difference:

KFC remains committed to improving the all-round school experience of students across the island and we saw this as an opportunity to make a contribution in an area which is usually overlooked.”

Laureen Hinds, Senior Teacher (Ag) at the Charles F. Broome Memorial Primary School, said the teachers and students of the school are very appreciative of the donation:

For some time now both teachers and students have been contending with excessive heat which has made the classroom environment uncomfortable… We are therefore very grateful to KFC, who have shown corporate Barbados’ willingness to come on board and assist our nation’s schools.”

The fans were assembled by KFC’s maintenance team who were pleased to assist with the effort and then the fans were distributed to various classrooms across the school.
