Missing Beechcraft plane from Dominican Republic found in Venezuela

The N871C plane, valued at US$2.5 million was located in the Las Matas sector, 54 miles east of Elorza, says El Nacional.

The Venezuelan press reports how the Venezuelan Strategic Command for Integral Defense of the Plains (REDI) and the National Anti-Drug Office both located the Beechcraft Kingair 200 in the state of Apure.

The plane had been stolen from the AILI (JBQ) airport in northern Santo Domingo on Sunday 23 October at 3:20am.

As reported in El Nacional of Venezuela, Armed Forces Major General Jose Gregorio Perez Escalona, chief of the REDI, said that one person has been arrested in connection with the case.

The General said that the airplane had been stolen from the Santo Domingo airport when the operations were closed. The Ministry of Interior and Justice supplied a photo showing how it had been camouflaged. {DATA COURTESY: DR1.COM}
