St Kitts’ Minister of Sports Hails Continued Success of Kim Collins

On behalf of the People and Government of the Federation of St. Kitts- Nevis, I wish to extend congratulations to the Federation’s Sprint Icon Mr. Kim Collins on winning the Bronze Medal at the Daegu 2011 World Championships.

Kittitian Minister of Sports - the Hon. Glenn Phillip would like to sincerely express congratulations to the SKNOC, the SKNAAA and SKN’s Sprint Icon, Kim Collins on his winning the Bronze Medal at the Daegu, 2011 World championships which took place Sunday, 28th August 2011.

This is Kim’s 8th straight participation at the World Championships; competing in an individual event. Having participated in 1995 with the St. Kitts and Nevis Relay Team (4×100); counting that relay would make his appearance in this year’s Championships his 9th.

I am especially thrilled for Kim because he is a shining example that self esteem, hard work, and perseverance undoubtedly yield dividends not just for the individual athlete, but for all of human civilisations.

I also commend President of the SKNOC, Mr. Alphonso Bridgewater and his Executive, SKNAAA President, Mr. Glen Jeffers and the rest of the SKNAAA Family for the planning and implementation done to support Kim in accomplishing this monumental task.

On this note, I want to once again join our Nation in acknowledging our Daegu, 2011 World Championships, Bronze Medal winning Sprint Icon Kim Collins for a job well done. May he continue to represent our Federation with Passion, Power and Pride on and off the track.

  1. Hi, i’m just wondering, how could Kim do a 21″ on a 100m run in 1999 (just curious).
Was he injured or something like that? Could not find any videos or explanations.
