LIME Pelican Football Challenge Barbados continues 18th September at Nat’l Stadium

The LIME Pelican Football Challenge Barbados continues this Sunday, with two matches scheduled for the National Stadium from 6:00 p.m.

Judging from last weekend's matches, it is evident that the standard of play will be high and the games highly competitive as all ten teams vie for top prize of $100,000.00: the richest purse in Bajan football history.

Direct TV Red Snappers will come up against Barbados Steel Works Top Bay Settlers in the first game, while Phoenix UFO Toyota Firehouse will meet Nu look 360 Connection in the second game scheduled for 8:15 p.m.

All four teams will be looking to emerge victorious after two drawn games in the opening double – header last Sunday. Red Snappers boast a line – up of five well – known former national footballers, including Captain Jason Carter, as well as current national player Bentley Springer, while Gregory Goodridge, the only local player to play in the English Premier League heads a list of former national players on the Top Bay Settlers line – up.

The Firehouse team is a powerhouse on paper, with ace player Norman Forde as well as 4 current national players, including Oscar Nero from St. Vincent as well as Under – 17 footballer Jomo Harris; 360 Connection will be a force to be reckoned with Armando Lashley, the leading league scorer for the year and Dwayne Stanford arguably one of the best strikers in Barbados.

The main event is when Phoenix UFO Toyota Firehouse will meet Nu look 360 Connection in the second game scheduled for 8:15 pm this Sunday!
