D.R. Judge orders Fernandez Regime to reveal gas price formula

The Santo Domingan citizens' movement is demanding transparency from the Ministry of Industry & Commerce on the formula it uses to calculate fuel prices every week

The Dominican Republic’s Higher Administrative Court announced it upheld the judicial recourse from the citizen group, “Lower the Price of Gas” against the minister of Industry and Commerce, as reported in acento.com.do

The movement is demanding transparency from the Ministry of Industry & Commerce on the formula it uses to calculate fuel prices every week. The court decision orders the Minister Manuel Garcia Arevalo to deliver the supporting documents and other parameters used to calculate the price of fuel to the public.

Juan Jose Lombas, a spokesman for the Country For All Youth Movement and coordinator of Lower the Price of Gas said this was a victory for the people and that they would continue to fight for transparency in setting the fuel prices.
