Barbados Water Authority carrying out repairs to burst mains in St. John & St. Andrew

The Barbados Water Authority informs customers in St. John & St. Andrew who may today Monday, September 26th be suffering a water outage, that a ten 10-inch main in Glenburnie has ruptured. Work crews are presently conducting repairs.

Affected areas may include Tent Bay, Glenburnie, Cattlewash, Joe’s River, Bathsheba, Gagg’s Hill, East Coast, Belleplaine, Lakes, Walkers, Shorey Village, Morgan Lewis Hill and surrounding areas. Districts located between Haggatts and Bissex may lose water supply later in the day.

Meanwhile, the BWA is also carrying out repairs to a 4-inch main in Haggatt Hall, St. Michael.

The Authority has dispatched water tankers to assist persons in the affected areas and apologises for the inconvenience. Normal service will be restored to all areas once repairs are completed.

  1. Why not replace all the mains parish by parish? Most of them I hear are poisonous lead pipes, like the name of the cakes you eat?
