Kadooment Challenges for the Barbados Water Authority: Mains under Repair ASAP
The Barbados Water Authority wishes to inform the public about problems it experienced in its distribution network today Monday 1st August.
The Authority has this afternoon, completed repairs to a 10-inch burst main at Bathsheba, St. Joseph which may have affected residents in a number of St. Joseph and St. Andrew areas. Though the system has been turned back on it may take some time for the water supply to all the affected customers to return to normal.
In addition, the BWA has had to stop pumping from its Bowmanston Station due to discoloured water appearing in the well as a result of the inclement weather. This stoppage will affect residents in parts of St. John but the Authority has sought to make adjustments within the network to assist affected residents as much as possible.
The inclement weather has also hampered efforts to complete repair of a 3-inch burst main in Johnson Development, St. Philip. However, repairs are scheduled to be completed on Tuesday morning, August 2nd.
The Authority apologises for the inconvenience caused.
