HBO ANNOUNCES ITS CINEMATIC PREMIERES FOR AUGUST 2011: Romantic Comedies to Action Westerns
- Sex and the City 2 (New Line Cinema) – Two years after Carrie’s wedding (Sarah Jessica Parker) to ‘Mr. Big’ (Chris Noth), she feels frustrated by her husband’s homebody routine, yearning for the dinners and parties of yesteryear. Meanwhile, her friend Charlotte (Kristin Davis) must deal with her daughter’s temper tantrums, Miranda (Cynthia Nixon) faces a new boss who doesn’t know how to work with an intelligent and successful woman and Samantha (Kim Cattrall) lands the opportunity to go on an all-expenses paid trip to Abu Dhabi – an experience which she decides to share alongside her three fabulous best friends. - Jonah Hex (Warner Bros.) – Jonah Hex (Josh Brolin) is an invincible bounty hunter who, during the Civil War, faced Turnbull (John Malkovich), the confederate general that murdered his family. Years later, Turnbull, along with a group of rebels, devises a plan to once and for all defeat the North, but the United States government counters by hiring Hex to stop him. Tensions rise when the 4th of July holiday approaches, as Hex and an unexpected ally have very little time to stop the evil Turnbull. Directed by: Jimmy Hayward.
- Love and Other Impossible Pursuits (Incentive Filmed Entertainment) – Emilia Greenleaf (Natalie Portman) is in love with her boss, Jack (Scott Cohen), and ends up pregnant after having an affair with him. Jack divorces his wife, Carolyne (Lisa Kudrow), in order to marry her, but his son, William (Charlie Tahan), is opposed to this new relationship. Three days after Emilia and Jack’s daughter is born, she dies unexpectedly. The new marriage starts to suffer and, surprisingly, it is William who will help Emilia discover the truth about the death of her daughter, Isabel. Directed by: Don Roos.
